Great location for walking in to Chester, beds are uncomfortable, shower dirty, rooms paper thin, hair in breakfast meat which was pretty off putting.

Stayed with my friend at the Moxy Chester for a fun night out. The hotel is beautiful, spacious, modern and extremely clean. The team on arrival were friendly, engaging and super energetic- which was nice! You also had a complimentary cocktail on arrival 🥂 The bedrooms were clean, extremely contemporary and spacious with all amenities you need for a nights stay. After our night out, they also have an evening menu, and tuck shop style corner where you can get snack such as chocolate, crisps and drinks (this was well needed). Thanks again for a great stay and hope to see you soon.

Good location on the canal Side making it very easy to walk into the city. Very basic rooms and function clean bathrooms but very small allowing one person at a time to use it. Small amount of parking at £10 a day on a first come basis but other local paid parking available. Breakfast is reasonable but not included for Bonvoy Platinum and above members no free car park. Challenge in the breakfast area is the local gym members take up a lot of seating for their chats leaving limit space early in the mornings for guests. Looked like they also help themselves to drinks and breakfast when no staff are present. Daytime paid good is ok if you can not get out but pizzas were crispy and the chips and other items were wanting as I think they heat them in an oven like Starbucks. Worth a try.

I recently stayed at the Moxy Chester, and while there were some great aspects to the hotel, a few issues stood out. First, the positives: the beds are incredibly comfortable—one of the best I’ve experienced—and ensured a good night’s sleep. The location is fantastic, with plenty of restaurants and bars along the river just a short walk away. There’s also a massive Waitrose just a minute’s walk from the hotel, which is super convenient. Breakfast was a standout, with a wide variety of options, including plenty of vegetarian choices. The staff were also excellent—friendly, helpful, and welcoming. However, there are a few drawbacks. The bathroom is very small, which might not be ideal for everyone. There’s also no proper desk or chair in the room for working. The only seating option is a bench, which is not ergonomic and will strain your back if you try to work for any length of time. Working in the reception area isn’t much better, as the music is extremely loud, making it unsuitable for meetings, whether via call or face-to-face. The parking is £10 per 24 hours and very limited. They could also remind you at check-in that it's paid and to pay, if you forget you will be getting a ticket in the post which has happened to me. As a Titanium Bonvoy member, I was also disappointed that the hotel doesn’t offer any upgrade options, which felt like a missed opportunity. Overall, while the comfort of the bed, excellent staff, and great location make the Moxy Chester appealing, the lack of work-friendly spaces and limited perks for loyalty members might not make it the best option for business travelers.

Stayed here for 1 night! Beautiful hotel, staff were nice, and have an activity room on the first floor! Only thing was it says they do pizza 24/7 but when we asked at 1am after our night out, they said they couldn’t.

Overall, my experience was fantastic, which is why I chose to return for another stay for my next conferences. The room was spotlessly clean, and the ambiance throughout the hotel was wonderful - especially in the lounge, which offered a perfect place to relax. The staff were mostly friendly and attentive, making the stay comfortable. The only area for improvement is breakfast. I missed having mushrooms, fried/poached eggs, and grilled tomatoes, which are often expected options. Adding a few extra choices would really enhance the morning experience. Overall, it’s a lovely hotel with great potential, and I look forward to seeing it become even better with these small adjustments.

We stayed at this hotel during a family road trip. The hotel is very new and clean. We requested a baby cot in advance through Marriott Bonvoy, but unfortunately, they forgot to provide it. Luckily, I had a credit card that offers room upgrades (subject to availability), but it depends on your luck. Unfortunately, despite available rooms, we were not upgraded, even after I checked the Marriott Bonvoy app post-check-in. Additionally, the credit card benefits included breakfast, but when I inquired about it, they said it wasn’t available, which was disappointing. It might be a good idea to confirm these details before booking, though even then, there’s no guarantee they’ll honour them upon arrival.

I checked in Sun 27th Oct, the young man was helpful and friendly. My room was ready. I absolutely loved my room, the layout, design, features. The meals that were on offer were delicious and value for money. There were lots of choice for breakfast. My only negative was on the morning of checkout, Tues 29th, there wasn't any clean forks. This could have been because of the time I went for breakfast. I asked the young lady for a clean fork, she told me she would have to go and wash some. However she never returned, I had to eat my cooked breakfast with a spoon. If I didn't have a previous appointment I would have asked to stay longer.

8 minutes walk to town centre,£10 for 24 hours parking on app.Staff were really helpful and organised. Breakfast was lovely,plenty of choice hot or cold.Had some food later in the evening that was great too,had a good choice of drinks.

Positive: Good location, short walk from the station and the city centre. Room: clean but small with a tiny showeroom. No shelves or cupboard for clothes. Just hooks and a hanging rail. The bed has a light underneath which is motion sensitive, so everytime one of us moved it came on. We asked how to turn this off and were told it only came on when you got out of bed. It was clearly faulty, we were assured this would be fixed -it wasn't. So we had three very disturbed nights' sleep. Who needs a motion sensitive light under the bed anyway, when there is a perfectly adequate bedside light? Food: breakfast was OK but expensive. We had dinner the first night. Waited 40 minutes after ordering. Veggie lasagne was mostly cheese and pasta with an occasional vegetable. General ambience: noisy music at all times. Trying too hard to be "down with the kids". Cringeworthy notices and slogans everywhere.

Had to park a 5 minute walk away as not enough space in the car park Guinness was 6£ from a can!!! Colleague booked the room for me but I had to pay on my card, wasn’t entitled to the points, also no water or biscuits in the room

The hotel itself (the building, the rooms, the design) were all excellent. The "soft product" was rather miserable. The food was barely edible, the parking lot was full (and is quite small), and the staff was more concerned with their conversation amongst themselves than serving guests. It all looks great in photos, but the execution was poor.

Fab stay!! Never had the pleasure of a Moxy before, and got to say, I will certainly be seeking them out in future! Very cool, cosy and warmly welcomed, as a female travelling in business solo, feeling safe and welcome is a must. Beds super comfy and rooms trendy, a great value stay in a superb location, just minutes from Chester train station.

Had a most enjoyable 3 night stay at Moxy Chester. Reception Jack / barman Sam & kitchen staff Richard most friendly & helpful. Farhan helped with flushing toilet. I highly recommend this hotel for the young & "young at heart" Cheers to The Crew.🥰

Perfectly fine hotel… but not if you drive an EV. Total disaster trying to charge anywhere around the NEC overnight. (Despite phoning ahead and being told the car park had EV charging… it did not).

Good location to get around. Small rooms but very modern. Bar downstairs had good selection of cocktails but only two bartenders on race day (a Sat.)- wait seemed too long.
